It has been a dream to initiate a second house in Manipur in the Archdioceseof Imphal. Most Rev Dominic Lumon Archbishop of Imphal was designed by divine providence to be instrumental in bringing this dream to realization at Hungpung, Manipur.
 
Community
he new shoot of infant Province Silchar rejoiced when a Decree of Erection was issued to this effect by Sr Rose Celine BS the Superior General on 13th November 2021. It was indeed a historic event as we witnessed the erection of the 20th Community of the Province, in the portals of Sacred Heart Campus Hungpung, Ukhrul District, Manipur. Sr Lucious, the Provincial Superior of Silchar Province installed Sr Philomina Secundas as first Superior of Bethany Convent,Hungpung and Sr Therou Marina Pao and Sr Catherine Pao as members. The solemn Eucharistic Celebration was officiated by Rev Fr John Kashiiphrii Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Imphal and was concelebrated by Rev Fr Gabriel Mayopam the Parish Priest, Rev Fr Joseph Thohrii the Asst. Parish Priest, Rev Fr Francis Nagningmi resident priest, and priests from the neighbouring three parishes. Fr John Kashiiphrii, blessed the house and imparted his blessings to the community for the fruitfulness of the mission. He urged the Sisters to bear witness to Christ by living in collaboration with other religious communities. Religious Sisters of SABS and SJSM Congregation were present on the occasion.
 
Community
The overjoyed gesture of welcome by the grateful local community was impressive and heartening. Impelled by the spirit of the Founder and the Charism of the Institute, the sisters have ventured into the education ministry with much enthusiasm. The new mission provides a lot of scope for imparting quality education and faith formation to the people. Indeed it was a red letter day in the life of the Congregation. We are deeply indebted to Sr Rose Celine our Superior General and her Councillors for their constant support and guidance. Thanks to Sr Lucious our Provincial Superior and her Councillors, for their vision which has given birth to this new mission. The day ended expressing our deep sentiments of gratitude to God. Long live Bethany!
