BETHANY LAY ASSOCIATION (BLA)I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak. Ezekiel 34:16'The light of the Nations' (Lumen Gentium) invites the laity to be the leaven in the world through the fulfillment of their own duties, and the witness of life and by their manifestation of Christ to others through faith, hope and charity. The Decree of Vatican II on the apostolate of the Lay people (Apostolicam Actuositatem) speaks of lay collaboration and pastoral ministry as complementary to each other (AA6). |
|
To support and collaborate with us in our mission we have an organisation of committed men and women called Bethany Lay Association (BLA) in most of the parishes where we work. BLA ensures lay participation in the ministry of Bethany Sisters. The Lay Associates have regular meetings, planning and take up pious and charitable activities on their own besides striving to live a life of holiness in their own families and in their parishes.
Our Province members serve in 17 parishes of various Archdiocese and Diocese. They are: Archdiocese of Shillong, Archdiocese of Imphal, Archdiocese of Guwahati, Diocese of Agartala, Diocese of Aizawl, and Diocese of Kohima.
