Then we were sent forth in groups of two and three to the three villages namely Gurudayal , Dhangacherra and Becharai. We started our mission at 8.30 am and visited 50 families on that day. As we stepped into the houses people were very happy to have us with them. They set aside their daily schedule and joined us in prayer. We moved from house to house explaining the purpose of our coming. We gave a listening ear to them as they shared their joys, problems and difficulties after which we prayed, shared our reflections based on the scriptures and concluded by praying a decade of rosary and a short prayer."

On the 15th of May which is the second day of our mission we went to Garo villages. We had holy mass in the morning and soon after the mass we dispersed for our mission in groups. We completed visiting all the 40 catholic families by 2.30 pm. We also visited the neighbouring villages of Puranbari and Notunbari. Even though our mission lasted only for two days, the impact was rich and experiential one. It was also a great privilege for us to share the word of God with the people and be one with them in prayer. We saw the realities of life and were moved to be more mission oriented. We witnessed the joy of the people which made us forget our tiredness and moved on with zeal climbing the hills with joy. As we went around and met the families we encouraged young boys and girls to embrace priesthood and religious life. At the same time we insisted the parents to support them through their prayers and faithful Christian life. We asked the church leaders to pray for the vocation to priesthood and religious life

At the end of our mission the village leaders expressed their gratitude for bringing God’s words to them and enabling them to pray well. The impacts of this home mission in the lives of the people are:  Love for the word of God  Deepening their faith in God  Love and devotion towards Mother Mary  Inculcating in them a desire for prayer.
