Kolasib, July 15: We the Gorettian family of Kolasib, conducted a short assembly to celebrate the school feast day on July 8, July 6 being a holiday in Mizoram. The assembly began with scripture reading and prayer followed by worship dance. Feast of St Maria Goretti celebrated at Kolasib

We the Gorettian family of Kolasib, conducted a short assembly to celebrate the school feast day on July 8, July 6 being a holiday in Mizoram. The assembly began with scripture reading and prayer followed by worship dance. The assembly focused on the virtues of the patron saint of our school-St Maria Goretti who is a symbol of purity, chastity and holiness. A short and vivid skit was displayed by the students of class VIII A, depicting a humble, prayerful and pure life as opposed to a life of adulteration.
 
Community
Maria Goretti’s brave fight against the advances of Alessandro remains a bright example and a call to young boys and girls to keep up purity of life and glorify God by their lives. Maria Goretti is one of the youngest saints to be canonised by the Church and is a role model for every Gorettian. Students who have passed through this school remember the virtues taught by our saintly patron through her virtuous and self-sacrificing life. The students were captivated by the short but clear enactment of the life of St Maria Goretti. The prayerful and sober assembly came to an end with a powerful message delivered by our headmistress Sr Mary Naulak.
