APOSTOLIC NUNCIO VISITS BARAK VALLEY CATHOLIC CHURCH SILCHAR, December 18, 2022 It was a great experience for the Catholic community of Barak Valley in Cachar District of Assam when His Excellency Most Rev. Leopoldo Girellli, Apostolic Nuncio to India and Nepal, visited Silchar on the 15th and 16th of December 2022. The Nuncio arrived at Silchar airport at 1.30 pm on 15th December 2022, and was received by a team of dignitaries including Rt Rev Stephen Rotluanga, Bishop of the Aizawl Diocese, Rev Fr Joachim Walder the Episcopal Vicar of Barak valley, and a large number of faithful and well wishers including priests, religious sisters, laity and students of Holy Cross School Silchar. He was specially honoured with the welcoming steps of the beautiful Khasi dance, performed by the youth of Silchar Parish. He was then escorted to Udharbond mission for a short visit where the students of St Mary’s School and the RNDM Sisters offered a short reception.
