Renewal Seminar for Senior Sisters
Your Steadfast Love is Higher than the Heavens: With joyful and grateful hearts we entered the portals of Holy Family Convent Silchar to partake of the Renewal Seminar for Senior Sisters on the 25th of February, 2024. This opportunity is given to all Sisters above 60 years and we received it as a ‘surprise check’ to stop, to look and to go the rest of the years, for none of us is too old to set a new goal, to take a new course of life. Seniors were divided into two groups and the seminar was arranged at two separate times-one following the other.
 
Renewal Seminar for Senior Sisters
The animator of the seminar Sr. Joy with her graceful presence, absolutely captivating voice and charming laughter placed before us the well-crafted and extremely inspiring and motivating reflections on topics like Living in Gratitude, Being Graceful and Grateful, Ladder of Change & Miracle of Awareness, Growth in Bethany-Integrated Person, Aging Gracefully, Building Sisterly Community, Mentoring, Empowering our Younger Sisters, Witness of Life, Blossoming into Handmaids at the Feet of the Lord in Complete Self-Surrender and Living in Continual Union with God. These topics of our interest placed before us in captivating and crystal clear manner with examples of people and incidents of our time stirred us from deep within for she had the intellectual and spiritual capacity for getting at the depth of a subject.
 
Renewal Seminar for Senior Sisters
All of us I am more than sure were totally absorbed in a deep, thoughtful ambience that bore new shoots to the ‘old stump’ which rose in the sky for bearing sweet fruits to the taste of all. Each one came out generously with renewed objective of life – New Goal with New Outlook, taking changed directions that added jest to our aging life.We realised that there are hurdles in life, I fact higher than most of us like to jump. But the hurdles of life were set out for a great purpose with a mighty plan of God. They are part of the grand scheme of things. We need to accept each one of them as they come, with a prayer for the nerve power, the heart power, the leg power to negotiate each of them as we encounter them in different seasons of our life. The outing on the last day of the seminar was a bonus which many of us took great delight in. ‘Don’t be afraid of tomorrow, for God has already been there- waiting for your finishing line to embrace and say, “Come you blessed of my father, inherit the kindom prepared for you…”(Mt 25: 34).
